Cold Makes Students Seriously Consider Cyride

Below zero temperatures on campus have been driving students to extreme lengths to stay warm. Some students are considering the most drastic possible step: riding Cyride. “I remember seeing the bus in September thinking I’d never want to look that dumb, but with this cold, I even got as far as looking when the next bus would arrive on MyState before deciding to walk.” said local Sophmore Andrea Lea. It has long been known on campus that the only acceptable use for Cyride is coming back from parties at 1 am and coming to campus from West Ames (at which point you’re already going to look dumb by living in West Ames), but these winter conditions are driving even otherwise sane students to consider breaking these ancient rules. Jimmy Halbin, a dedicated walker said  “They just look so warm in there. I could be sitting down in a warm moving box. Instead, I’m out here freezing my fingers off every time I pull out my phone to check the time.” With the temperatures in Ames predicted to stay below zero, one can only hope that students don’t leave behind their final shred of decency and start to wear those weird face warmer things.
